SZA Plans To Venture Into Farming After Dropping Last 2 Albums on Contract with ‘Peaceful Children’s Music’

SZA, the singer behind the hit song “Scorsese Baby Daddy”, has revealed her plans for after her current recording contract expires.

In a post on X on January 4, the 33-year-old artist expressed her desire to explore a new music genre, specifically creating peaceful children’s music, in order to fulfill her remaining album obligations.

After that, she hopes to take a break from the music industry to pursue a different passion – farming.

SZA aims to use her farm to donate fresh produce to underserved communities, giving back to those in need.

This isn’t her first move into children’s content, as she previously made an appearance on Sesame Street in March 2024, a goal she had been wanting to achieve since posting about it online seven years prior.

However, it’s unclear how many more albums she is contracted to release. This announcement comes just weeks after SZA dropped her highly anticipated album SOS Deluxe: Lana, which was initially expected to be released on Friday, December 20, but was delayed until the afternoon of the same day.

The massive 38-track project features 14 new songs, 23 original tracks from SOS, and her previously released single “Saturn”.

In late December, SZA hinted that “updated mixes and new songs” would be added to the album today, January 6.

It seems 2025 will be an exciting year for SZA, as she prepares to embark on the Grand National Tour alongside Kendrick Lamar in April, starting in Minneapolis.

The tour will make its way across the United States over the course of two months, wrapping up in Washington, D.C. in June.
