Susan Lucci took to social media to reflect on her time in the ballroom of Dancing with the Stars as the Season 34 finale approached. The soap opera icon shared a throwback video from her experience as a contestant on Season 7 of the hit dancing competition show in 2008, where she was partnered with professional dancer Tony Dovolani.
In the Instagram post uploaded on Monday, Lucci, now 78, reminisced about her time on the dance floor 17 years ago. The montage video showcased some of her best moments from the show, including performances like a Cha Cha to “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and a Rumba to “Waiting on the World to Change.”
Fans flooded the comments with praise for Lucci’s dancing skills, with many expressing regret for missing out on her performances during that season. One fan even dubbed Lucci’s DWTS run as their favorite season of the show.
While Lucci and Dovolani made it to week 8 of the competition, landing them in 6th place overall, the Mirrorball Trophy that year went to Brooke Burke and Derek Hough, with Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson in second place, and Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer in third.
In addition to reminiscing about her time on the show, Lucci also took the opportunity to send her best wishes to the finalists of the current season of Dancing with the Stars. The celebrities vying for the trophy include Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson.
The Season 34 finale of Dancing with the Stars airs live on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+. As we eagerly await the crowning of the winner, we can’t help but appreciate Susan Lucci’s timeless talent and grace both on the dance floor and off.
