Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Paramount+ has become a hub for new Star Trek shows since 2017. As many series wrap up their five-year missions, a new one, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, is ready to take off. This upcoming show will introduce a new generation of Starfleet recruits, led by some legendary actors.

The series follows a group of hopeful cadets pursuing a dream of hope and optimism. They face challenging instructors and navigate friendships, rivalries, first loves, and a new enemy threatening the Academy and the Federation itself.

The cast includes Holly Hunter as Captain and Chancellor Nahla Ake, Paul Giamatti as recurring guest star Nus Braka, Tig Notaro as Jett Reno, Robert Picardo reprising his role as The Doctor, Mary Wiseman guest-starring as Sylvia Tilly, Oded Fehr as Admiral Charles Vance, Gina Yashere as Commander Lura Thok, Tatiana Maslany in a recurring guest role, Stephen Colbert as the Digital Dean of Students, Sandro Rosta as Caleb Mir, Karim Diané as Jay-Den Kraag, Kerrice Brooks as Series Acclimation Mil a.k.a. SAM, George Hawkins as Darem Reymi, and Bella Shepard as Genesis Lythe.

Starfleet Academy has already completed filming its first season and is set to premiere on January 15, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. The show has been renewed for a second season.

In addition to Starfleet Academy, Paramount+ offers a range of Star Trek shows including Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Prodigy.
