Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Paramount+ has been the hub for new Star Trek shows since 2017. While many of these shows have ended their five-year missions, a new one is on the horizon. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is set to welcome a fresh crop of Starfleet recruits led by a group of renowned actors.

In this new series, viewers will follow a group of cadets as they come together to pursue a shared dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful eyes of their instructors, they will learn what it takes to become Starfleet officers, navigating friendships, rivalries, first loves, and a new enemy that poses a threat to both the Academy and the Federation.

Joining the cast is Paul Giamatti as Nus Braka, a half-Klingon, half-Tellarite villain with a mysterious past connected to one of the cadets. Known for his role in Sideways, Giamatti’s addition to the cast brings a level of depth and intrigue to the series.

Tig Notaro, known for her stand-up comedy, portrays Chief Engineer Jett Reno in a recurring role. Her witty humor and diverse acting background add a layer of complexity to her character in the Starfleet Academy.
