Sofia Richie recently shared that she was hospitalised with postpartum preeclampsia just two days after giving birth to her daughter, Eloise, in May.
She experienced intense swelling and high blood pressure, which led to the diagnosis of this rare condition, marked by high blood pressure and elevated protein levels in the urine after childbirth.
Initially, Sofia was reluctant to return to the hospital, fearing separation from her newborn and experiencing what she described as “mum guilt”—a strong desire to be present for her baby’s first moments. Additionally, she revealed that she had endured contractions for six weeks leading up to her delivery.
Despite these challenges, Sofia expressed gratitude for the support she received and celebrated the successful birth of her daughter. She and her husband, Elliot Grainge, welcomed Eloise in May, a month after their wedding in April 2023.
