Soaring Adventures: The UP Ride at Disneyland Paris

The latest addition to Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris is a ride based on the beloved 2009 Pixar film, UP. This new family-friendly attraction, developed by Walt Disney Imagineering in collaboration with Zamperla Group, will take guests on a journey through the whimsical world of Carl and Ellie’s house.

As visitors wait in line for the UP ride, they will be immersed in the nostalgia of the film and the sense of adventure it evokes. Divided into four narrative zones, the queue will guide guests through Carl and Ellie’s memories before they soar into the sky with Carl’s iconic balloons.

The ride itself will feature 64 seats distributed across 48 swing positions, offering a mix of single and double seating options. While some fans have expressed skepticism about the simplistic chair swing design, others appreciate the retro vibe that pays homage to Carl and Ellie’s story.

Drawing inspiration from Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, the UP attraction will blend Art Nouveau and early aviation aesthetics. Visitors can expect to see curved structures, decorative metalwork, and balloon motifs integrated into the entrance and exit structures. The ride will also feature stained glass elements that create warm lighting effects and a musical atmosphere inspired by fairground organs.

One unique aspect of the ride is the rotating canopy that gradually reveals a mural designed in collaboration with Pixar Studios. This artistic touch adds an extra layer of storytelling to the overall experience.

While an opening date for the UP attraction has not been announced yet, early concept photos showcase the colorful and whimsical design elements that guests can look forward to. With its blend of nostalgia, adventure, and artistic flair, the UP ride promises to be a delightful addition to Disney Adventure World.

Just like Carl and Ellie’s house lifted off into the sky with balloons, the UP attraction at Disneyland Paris is set to whisk visitors away on a magical journey through the world of Pixar’s beloved film.
