The incident occurred during a protective assignment, as reported by CNN. The agent, whose injury is non-life-threatening, received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition at a nearby hospital, according to USSS spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi.
Fortunately, Biden was not present at the airport during the accidental shooting, as confirmed by USSS spokesperson Nate Herring. The agent’s injury was a result of a negligent discharge while handling a service weapon. The Office of Professional Responsibility at the Secret Service will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Despite inquiries, a spokesperson for the First Lady declined to provide a statement regarding the incident.
