Samuel L. Jackson to Headline Taylor Sheridan’s “Frisco King”

Taylor Sheridan has a knack for attracting A-list talent to his projects, as evidenced by the impressive lineup of stars in his television shows. From Kevin Costner in Yellowstone to Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Jeremy Renner, and Sylvester Stallone in various series, Sheridan consistently pulls in top-tier actors. Now, Samuel Jackson is set to lead a spinoff of Tulsa King called Frisco King.

Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals at Paramount+, recognizes Sheridan’s ability to create captivating worlds that draw in renowned talent like Jackson. The upcoming Frisco King is no exception, showcasing Sheridan’s ambitious storytelling and the scale of his work.

Frisco King, originally titled NOLA King, follows the story of Russell Lee Washington Jr. (played by Jackson), who forms an unexpected bond with Dwight Manfredi (portrayed by Sylvester Stallone) during a decade-long prison sentence. Sent to Tulsa with the task of eliminating Dwight, Washington instead finds inspiration in Dwight’s accomplishments and decides to start anew in Frisco, Texas. Jackson will also serve as an executive producer alongside Sheridan and Stallone.

Production for Frisco King is slated to begin in late March, with filming taking place in Fort Worth, Texas and the surrounding areas. The first season will consist of eight episodes, all written by Taylor Sheridan himself. There is no official release date for Frisco King yet, but viewers can expect it to premiere in early 2027 or possibly late 2026.

Frisco King will be available exclusively for streaming on Paramount+. As for a potential second season, details have not been confirmed yet, but updates will be provided as they become available.

The cast of Frisco King includes Samuel L. Jackson as the lead character Russell Lee Washington Jr., along with Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann in supporting roles. Their dynamic performances bring the story to life in this highly anticipated series.
