Rena Wakama, OON (born 11 April 1992) is a Nigerian professional basketball coach and former player, currently serving as head coach of the Nigeria Senior Women’s National Basketball Team and assistant coach for the Chicago Sky.

Early Life and Education
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Wakama is the daughter of Johnson Wakama and Rosana Oba, both natives of Okrika in Rivers State, Nigeria. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Western Carolina University, followed by a master’s degree in Business Administration from Manhattan College.
Career
Wakama’s passion for basketball was ignited in her childhood, inspired by her cousin, Onimisi Aiyede, who introduced her to the sport. Over the years, she developed her skills on the court before transitioning into coaching, where she has made her mark on both national and international stages.
