Rachel McAdams Honored on Hollywood Walk of Fame with Partner Jamie Linden by Her Side

With her longtime partner, Jamie Linden, by her side, Rachel McAdams celebrated a major achievement at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles. The actress, 47, and the screenwriter, 45, were all smiles as they sat together in the audience, and she even gave him a sweet shout-out during her speech.

“It seems silly to just have my name on here, so I share this little piece of Earth with all of you,” McAdams said, paying tribute to her family, friends, co-stars, and team. “To Jamie, my North Star, sister Kayleen, my other North Star, thank you for being such a great team and keeping me quasi-normal. I love you all so much. Thank you so much.”

McAdams also expressed her gratitude for her parents, Lance and Sandra, for their support over the years. She emotionally shared, “I do want to freeze time for a second because you only get a few of these moments in life to thank you on this stage for everything. All of it. All of it is because of you and the love you gave us and the beautiful childhood you gave us and for believing in me long before I could grasp how to believe in myself.”

Tuesday’s ceremony marked a rare joint public outing for McAdams and Linden, who have kept their relationship out of the spotlight since they began dating in 2016. The pair have also maintained their family’s privacy since welcoming their son in 2018 and their daughter in 2020, opting not to share their kids’ names with the world.

Despite her reluctance to share details about her personal life, McAdams has gushed about her experience as a mother. “It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down,” she told The Sunday Times in November 2018. “I had 39 years of me. I was sick of me. I was so happy to put the focus on some other person.”

Of the timing of her motherhood journey, McAdams added that she “waited a long time” to take on the role. “It’s just how it happened,” she explained. “And I didn’t want to do it before it was the right time.”

McAdams also clarified why she and Linden chose not to reveal their son’s name at the time. “I want to keep his life private, even if mine isn’t,” she said. “But I’m having more fun being a mum than I’ve ever had. Everything about it is interesting and exciting and inspiring to me. Even the tough days—there’s something delightful about them.”
