Poison the Well: Peace in Place

Poison the Well, the iconic metalcore band, is making a powerful comeback with their first album in nearly two decades, “Peace in Place,” set to release on March 20 via SharpTone Records. The band has been through seventeen years of change, but this new album serves as a reminder of what truly matters to them.

Their latest single, “Thoroughbreds,” is a three-and-a-half-minute burst of hardcore energy that showcases the band’s enduring passion and talent. Frontman Jeffrey Moreira describes the track as a reflection on the resilience of lifelong bonds that can sometimes falter unexpectedly.

After a decade-long hiatus starting in 2010, the band reunited in 2015 for a series of shows, leading up to the release of their comeback single, “Trembling Level,” a year ago. As they celebrated their 25th anniversary with a tour honoring their debut album, “The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation,” Poison the Well proved that their connection and dedication to their music remain as strong as ever.

Moreira expresses gratitude for the opportunity to create music with his bandmates once again, reflecting on how joining Poison the Well at a young age shaped his approach to life. The upcoming album, “Peace in Place,” is described as their most emotionally charged record to date, filled with raw honesty and a deep sense of connection.

For Moreira, the album represents a journey of turning negative emotions into something meaningful and honest. It explores the full spectrum of human emotions, showing that even in moments of anger and frustration, there is still room for growth, understanding, and ultimately, peace.

As Poison the Well prepares to share their new music with the world, it is evident that their passion for music and their bond as a band have only grown stronger over the years. “Peace in Place” is not just an album—it’s a testament to the enduring power of music and connection in the face of life’s challenges.
