Poison fans eagerly anticipating the band’s 40th-anniversary tour may have to wait a bit longer. According to Page Six, plans for the multi-platinum glam metal band’s milestone tour have hit a snag due to a disagreement over finances. Co-founder and original drummer Rikki Rockett explained that while he, guitarist C.C. DeVille, and bassist Bobby Dall were on board, frontman Bret Michaels demanded a significantly larger share of the payout, causing negotiations to fall apart.
Although the tour was never officially announced, speculation had been building since Michaels mentioned the idea on Facebook in 2024. He envisioned 2026 as the perfect time to celebrate 40 years since the release of Poison’s debut album “Look What the Cat Dragged In.” Despite the setback, Michaels expressed enthusiasm for the potential reunion, citing the band’s recent touring success as motivation to hit the road once again.
With the tour on hold, Michaels hasn’t slowed down, teasing his “Live & Amplified 2026 Tour” on his official website. Early February dates, including shows around Valentine’s weekend, are already in the works, with a promise of a big announcement coming soon. While the reunion may have hit a roadblock, Rockett emphasized that there’s no animosity among band members, acknowledging the privilege of being part of Poison.
Looking ahead, Rockett hinted at the possibility of a delayed celebration with a 41st-anniversary tour, showing a sense of humor about the situation. Despite the challenges, he praised Michaels as the perfect frontman for Poison, expressing a reluctance to replace him. While the future of the band remains uncertain, Rockett’s lighthearted approach suggests that there may still be hope for a reunion in the future.
