Swiss socialite Jocelyne Wildenstein, famously known as “catwoman” for her extensive plastic surgery, has passed away at the age of 79.
This was confirmed by her partner Lloyd Klein on Wednesday.
He revealed that the plastic surgery enthusiast died from a pulmonary embolism at a luxury hotel in Paris.
Born in Switzerland in 1945, Jocelyn Perisset became a prominent New York socialite after marrying art dealer Alec Wildenstein, with whom she had two children.
She retained his surname following their divorce in the late 1990s.
A cosmetic surgery enthusiast with over a million Instagram followers, she earned the nickname “catwoman” in tabloids due to the feline-like appearance of her eyes.
Until her death, she had been splitting her time between New York and Miami.
Her last Instagram post featured a video of her and Klein posing for photographers outside the Ritz Paris on December 23, set to Wham’s “Last Christmas.”
She stated in an interview with French television news channel C8 last autumn, “I never wanted to change my face,” although she admitted she might have preferred her lips to be a bit fuller.
Wildenstein clarified that her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery was not an attempt to win back her ex-husband.
