Phaedra Parks Returns to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ with a Bang

Phaedra Parks made her highly anticipated return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Sunday, May 25, stepping back into the spotlight after an eight-year absence to take over Kenya Moore’s peach. Welcomed by her old friend Porsha Williams, the attorney wasted no time in making her presence felt and throwing shade at the new cast members.

“I heard you were looking for me. Here y’all go,” Phaedra, 51, declared. “I’m back where I belong. Baby, I am home.”

Parks was famously fired from the show in 2017 after admitting to spreading false rumors that former Housewife Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker had planned to drug Porsha and Shamea Morton to sexually take advantage of them – claims that Burruss and Tucker vehemently denied.

In her confessional, Phaedra acknowledged, “Unfortunately, the last time you saw me wasn’t my best moment,” though she hinted at shared blame, adding, “Now, we know I regret how I left the group, but he who is without fault cast the first stone.”

Since her departure, Phaedra and Porsha, 43, have mended their friendship. Porsha stated that after her “healing process,” she no longer dwells on their past fallout. “My relationship with Porsha is awesome,” Phaedra confirmed.

“We have had our ups and downs, but we’ve always maintained that friendship. When there is a true friendship, no matter what you go through, it can never be broken, and it’s just like riding a bicycle. When we get together, we are rolling.” The duo even resurrected their old nickname, “Wonder Twins.”

As Porsha began to introduce the group’s dynamics, Phaedra immediately unleashed her signature wit. She compared Kelli Ferrell to a “garden gnome” due to her small stature and took a jab at Brit Eady. “Brit’s been a girl about town,” Phaedra quipped.

“She’s a woman about the city. And countries, too. You know, she’s got more bodies than Willie, they say.” Porsha couldn’t contain her laughter at the comparison to Georgia mortician Willie Watkins.

Phaedra then elaborated, “Brit Eady, she’s been known to have a few suitors, but now she’s a married woman. Hey, somebody wifed her up. So that chicken pot pie must be good and creamy.”

The ladies then discussed Drew Sidora, who is currently facing accusations of trying to sleep with Porsha’s ex-husband, Dennis McKinley.

When Porsha asked if Phaedra knew Drew was “working with my child’s father,” Phaedra humorously questioned, “They’re selling hot dogs?” Porsha clarified, “Apparently they said she was sitting on the hot dog,” implying a sexual encounter.

Phaedra then suggested she thought Drew was romantically interested in women, but added, “On the streets, the people in Atlanta are very curious.”

Regarding Angela Oakley, Phaedra claimed she wasn’t even aware her husband of 10 years, Charles Oakley, was married. “This is the ki-ki I needed!” Porsha exclaimed.

At the end of the episode, Phaedra expressed her excitement about being back on the show, delivering one final round of playful jabs at her new castmates.

She referred to Kelli as “strawberry shortcake on steroids,” Drew as “the very fluid friend, Drew-zilla,” Brit as “the woman of our town,” and Angela as “the secret wife of Charles Oakley.”

“I cannot wait to dive in and have some fun,” Phaedra concluded. “Ooh, so delicious, like a buffet of foolishness.”
