With the recent loss of his former KISS bandmate Ace Frehley, Peter Criss celebrated his 80th birthday on December 20th, just a day after releasing his first solo album in 18 years.

Criss took to Instagram to share the success of his self-titled album, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Albums chart. Fans flooded the comments section with words of support and admiration for the iconic drummer.

Not only available digitally, Criss’ album also comes in black, silver, and white vinyl options, as well as on CD.

Joining Criss on this musical journey are notable musicians like Billy Sheehan, John 5, and Paul Shaffer. Sheehan expressed his honor at being part of the album on a post, showcasing the camaraderie within the music industry.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Criss is best known for his time with KISS, donning the iconic “Catman” makeup. He contributed to the band’s success with his skills on the drums and his involvement in writing their hit ballad, “Beth.”
