Obituary, the legendary death metal band, recently made headlines with an important update for their devoted fans. The band, known for hits like “Chopped in Half” and “Slowly We Rot,” is currently on a tour across Latin America to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Cause of Death.
The tour kicked off with a bang in Mexico City, followed by electrifying performances in San José, Bogotá, and Lima, before heading to major cities in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. However, in the midst of their Latin American tour, Obituary made a significant announcement regarding a venue change for their upcoming Buenos Aires show. Although the Feb. 18 show was sold out, the band decided to switch to a new venue, Teatro Flores, to better accommodate their fans and logistical needs.
Support for the venue change poured in from fans in the comment section, highlighting the band’s decision as necessary to cater to a larger audience. Obituary’s Latin American tour is set to continue with 10 more shows in the region before they embark on the highly anticipated Out of the Swamp U.S. tour.
Following their Latin American run, Obituary will kick off a nine-date U.S. tour in their home state of Florida, with the tour culminating in Louisiana. What adds to the excitement is that the band will be joined by Castrator and Intoxicated as support acts and will also serve as supporting acts for Acid Bath on two select dates.
The Out of the Swamp U.S. tour dates are as follows:
– Mar. 19: Gainesville, FL – The Wooly (no Castrator)
– Mar. 20: Birmingham, AL – The Canteen
– Mar. 21: Pelham, TN – The Caverns (with Acid Bath, Herakleion, and Sant Avangeline)
