Nevermore: A New Era Begins

As 2026 kicks off, Seattle-based heavy metal band Nevermore is set to make waves with a fresh lineup of members alongside founders Jeff Loomis and Van Williams. The band also revealed their new record label signing, with their upcoming performance scheduled for the spring.

Announcing their partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music on Instagram, Nevermore expressed their excitement for the “new era” ahead. They eagerly anticipate their first live show of the year in Istanbul, Turkey, on April 1, while also hinting at the completion of their upcoming studio album.

The band shared, “We are thrilled to announce that Nevermore has officially signed with Reigning Phoenix Music! Their passion for metal music and industry expertise makes them the perfect partner for the new chapter of Nevermore.” This exciting news was accompanied by a rehearsal video posted on their social media.

Adding to the anticipation is the introduction of three new members to Nevermore’s lineup. Guitarist Jack Cattoi, bassist Semir Özerkan, and vocalist Berzan Önen will join founders Loomis and Williams on stage. In a documentary released by the band, Loomis recalled how Berzan’s audition tape stood out with his emotional and passionate performance, leaving a lasting impression on the band.

Nevermore, originally formed in 1992 in Seattle, Washington, faced numerous lineup changes over the years but continued to find success until their hiatus in 2011. The tragic passing of vocalist Warrel Dane in 2017 led to the band’s reformation in 2025. Loomis and Williams expressed the difficulty of replacing Dane but emphasized the new vocalist’s ability to honor the band’s legacy while bringing fresh perspectives to their music.

The revitalized Nevermore promises an exciting future, blending their rich history with a new chapter that pays tribute to their roots while exploring new musical territories. As they gear up for their live performances and album release, fans can expect a powerful, unforgettable experience from one of heavy metal’s enduring legends.
