In a recent episode of the Jinger & Jeremy podcast, Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her husband Jeremy Vuolo shared a fascinating tidbit about their relationship. Before they even went on their first date, Jinger’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, presented Jeremy with a whopping 60-page questionnaire. Yes, you read that right – 60 pages! The questionnaire, filled with 235 questions, was no joke.
Among the questions Jeremy had to tackle were inquiries about his struggles with idols in life, his church attendance history, any past sexual immorality in his family, and even his opinions on kissing before marriage. Talk about getting deep right off the bat!
It’s worth noting that Jim Bob didn’t come up with the questionnaire himself. According to Jeremy, the form, titled “The Courtship Questionnaire,” was actually penned by Ron and Rebecca Coriell. After taking the time to answer all the questions, Jeremy returned the questionnaire to Jim Bob with a hefty 107 pages of responses.
Some other thought-provoking questions from the questionnaire included musings on parental authority, involvement in cultic practices, grandparents’ influence, financial stability, and even preferences on having children. The level of detail and personal insight required by the questionnaire was definitely next-level.
While the idea of a 60-page questionnaire may seem a bit extreme, Jeremy shared that he appreciated the depth of the questions. From beliefs to theological perspectives to handling finances, the questionnaire covered crucial topics that could potentially save couples from future heartache by addressing them upfront.
Through it all, Jinger and Jeremy have navigated the unique challenges of their relationship. The couple tied the knot in November 2016 and have since welcomed three children into their family. As they continue to grow together, it’s clear that their journey is one defined by honesty, openness, and a willingness to tackle the tough questions head-on.
