National Sports Commission Confirms Fulfillment of Promised Rewards to Super Falcons

The National Sports Commission’s Director-General, Bukola Olopade, has confirmed that the $100,000 reward promised by President Bola Tinubu to each member of the Super Falcons will be fulfilled. This reward was pledged following the team’s victory in the Womens Africa Cup of Nations. In addition to the monetary reward, the players were promised three-bedroom apartments in Abuja and national honors.

Despite earlier concerns raised by team captain Rasheedat Ajibade about the delay in receiving these rewards, Olopade reassured that all tournament bonuses have been paid out, with just a few players facing minor banking issues. The process to fulfill Tinubu’s pledges is currently underway.

Plans are also in motion for the acquisition of the promised apartments in Abuja, with discussions ongoing between the Ministry of Housing and the Renewed Hope Homes initiative. Olopade emphasized the commitment to ensuring that all promises made to the Super Falcons will be fully honored.
