Mumford & Sons Gear Up for North American Tour with New Album
The English indie folk rock band Mumford & Sons are making waves this year with their newly announced monster North American tour, set to kick off on June 2 in Vancouver. The tour will celebrate their latest album, “Prizefighter,” with stops at iconic venues like Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Boston’s Fenway Park, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, and Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena.
The buzz around the tour includes special guest performances by CAAMP, Lord Huron, Sierra Ferrell, Marcus King Band, Dylan Gossett, and Medium Build. The band’s dedicated Agora fan club will have access to pre-sale tickets starting on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. local time, while tickets for the general public go on sale on Feb. 27.
Mumford & Sons have also partnered with PLUS1 to support Children in Conflict, a part of the War Child Alliance. $1 from every ticket sold will go towards helping children affected by war.
The tour will conclude on Oct. 6 in Los Angeles at Kia Forum. Fans can find more information on tour dates and ticket sales on the band’s official website.
“Prizefighter” marks the band’s sixth studio album, featuring collaborations with artists like Hozier, Gigi Perez, Gracie Abrams, and Chris Stapleton. The album was co-written by Aaron Dessner, a founding member of The National, who shared the journey of the album on Instagram.
In addition to the album release, Mumford & Sons dropped a new video for “The Banjo Song” today, featuring Bristol dancers and the soulful strums of a banjo. The band is also set to be the musical guest on the Feb. 28 episode of Saturday Night Live.
