Fans of the late singer George Michael were left disappointed by the recent release from his team, which announced a reissue of his debut album, ‘Faith’, last week. The official Instagram account shared a video with the message, “We’re delighted to announce that George’s iconic debut solo album ‘Faith’ is finally back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade!”
The reissue of ‘Faith’ will come in various formats, including regular black vinyl, red and black marble vinyl, picture disk, audio Blu-ray, and CD. Preorders are currently available, and the album is set to be released on Feb. 20, 2026.
While some fans were excited about the reissue after more than 10 years, others were underwhelmed, hoping for new material instead. Many expressed their disappointment, with one fan writing, “Was hoping for a live DVD. Maybe next Christmas.” Others commented on the repetitive nature of the reissues, stating, “Thanks but I’ll stick to my old two copies of vinyl. They’ve got the same songs as the new ones.”
Despite the mixed reactions, there were still plenty of excited fans who welcomed the reissue, especially newer collectors who hadn’t had the chance to own ‘Faith’ on vinyl before. One fan exclaimed, “About damn time!!! Thank you to George’s estate and Sony Music!!! Been waiting a long time for this!!!”
As fans continue to share their opinions, it remains to be seen whether Michael’s team will take their feedback into account for future releases.
In other music news, the hit song “Last Christmas” from Michael’s band Wham! has climbed the music charts once again. The 1984 Christmas track reached the top spot on the Billboard Global 200, surpassing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” thanks to holiday season hype.
The resurgence of Wham!’s classic track adds to the ongoing legacy of George Michael and his impact on music culture.
