Missing Mother and Infant Daughter Found Dead in Submerged Vehicle

Tragic news struck when a missing mother, Whisper Owen, and her 8-month-old daughter, Sandra McCarty, were found dead after being missing for a month. Their bodies were discovered inside a submerged vehicle in Stanislaus County, California.

The heartbreaking disappearance occurred on July 15 as the mother and daughter were on their way home to Sacramento from Fresno. Whisper’s phone was last located near Victory Avenue and Highway 120, leading search teams to their whereabouts.

After an extensive search effort, the bodies of Whisper and Sandra were finally located in a waterway inside a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Despite the challenges, a nonprofit group specializing in canal searches, Adventures with Purpose, was able to assist in finding the tragic pair.

Whisper’s brother, Richard Owen, expressed his gratitude for the support received during the investigation. He remembered his sister and niece as bright souls who had a positive impact on many lives and deserved to be remembered as such.

In honor of Whisper and Sandra, Richard started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses, emphasizing the need to cherish their memory and celebrate the love they brought into the world. Whisper leaves behind three other children, leaving a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
