Miley Cyrus Hospitalized in ICU After “Brutal Infection” Linked to Visual Album Shoot

Miley Cyrus has revealed she was hospitalized in the ICU late last year due to a severe infection, which she believes stemmed from filming her upcoming “Something Beautiful” visual album.

During Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the “Flowers” singer, 32, explained that she shot the visual album in October 2024.

By Thanksgiving, she was admitted to the ICU. “My leg began to disintegrate around the kneecap area,” Cyrus described.

When her doctor questioned the cause of such a “brutal infection,” Cyrus humorously admitted the reason. “I just … had to tell him,” she quipped, adding that the surgeon found the infection “disgusting” despite his experience. “Like, they open up cadavers, they see inside the gut of humans,” she joked.

Cyrus explained that the visual album was filmed at night on the streets of Los Angeles to save on location rental fees, calling it a “budget” production where she “spent it all on [her] clothes.”

Joking with Jimmy Kimmel about filming on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after hours, she quipped that she “thought it was [her] last day.”

Miley Cyrus’s new album, “Something Beautiful,” is set to be released on May 30th. A musical movie featuring songs from the album will follow next month.
