Eyewitnesses recounted seeing a large number of bees around Ms. Devine, hindering efforts to assist her. Despite emergency services rushing to the scene, Ms. Devine succumbed to the multiple stings she endured. The Rescue 118 Coast Guard helicopter was called in to airlift her to Sligo University Hospital, where she tragically passed away.
