Manon Bannerman, a member of KATSEYE, made a surprising announcement on Friday regarding her temporary departure from the girl group. In a statement shared on Weverse and social media, the group expressed their support for Bannerman’s decision to prioritize her health and well-being. Despite her hiatus, KATSEYE reassured fans that scheduled performances and events will proceed as planned.
In her own message on Weverse, Bannerman thanked her supporters for standing by her during this time. “Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture,” she wrote. “Thank you for your endless love. I can’t wait to see you again.”
Selected by major global record labels HYBE and Geffen Records in 2023, Bannerman was one of six members to join KATSEYE through the reality series “The Debut: Dream Academy.” The group, which also includes Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Sophia Laforteza, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung, quickly rose to stardom after their formation.
In 2024, the Netflix series “Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE” chronicled the group’s journey from training to their debut. Their popularity soared with hits like “Touch” and “Gnarly,” earning them spots on the Billboard charts. KATSEYE’s success led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2025.
Despite not winning the Grammy, KATSEYE continues to make waves in the music industry. With their unique sound and undeniable talent, the girl group has solidified their status as rising stars in the pop music scene. As they navigate through challenges and triumphs, KATSEYE remains a force to be reckoned with, captivating audiences worldwide.
