“Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” Revival Coming to Hulu

If you were a child of the early 2000s, chances are you spent time watching “Malcolm in the Middle” on Fox, bopping your head to the catchy theme song by They Might Be Giants. Even though it’s been almost two decades since the show ended, the Wilkerson family is making a comeback on Hulu in April with a four-part limited series titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.” Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, and nearly every original cast member are reuniting for this revival.

The series will premiere on Friday, April 10, 2026, exclusively on Hulu and Disney+. While you wait for the limited series to release, you can binge-watch all 151 episodes of the original show on Hulu.

The trailer for “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” is already out, teasing the return of the dysfunctional yet hilarious Wilkerson family. The official synopsis reveals that Malcolm is reluctantly pulled back into his family’s chaos when his parents demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party.

Creator Linwood Boomer, who drew inspiration from his own childhood for the show, returns as a writer and executive producer for the revival. Production took place in Vancouver, Canada, a departure from the original series which was filmed in Los Angeles.

Most of the original cast members are back for the limited series, except for Erik Per Sullivan who played Dewey, as he has retired from acting. Additionally, the character of Jamie, the youngest brother, is now an adult and will be portrayed by Anthony Timpano.

Joining the returning cast are new characters like Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Hal and Lois’s youngest child, and Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter. The limited series will consist of four episodes and has been announced as a one-time event, so a second season is unlikely.

“Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” promises to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for fans of the original show, offering a new chapter in the lives of the beloved Wilkerson family. So mark your calendars and get ready to laugh along with Malcolm and his quirky family once again.
