Personal Life

Lori was born on October 14, 1963, and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She went to North High School there and graduated in 1981. She has a sibling Lisa Petty.

Career


In 1985, Lori Petty made her debut on television with a minor part in “All My Children.” After making her acting debut, she took on several small roles in T.V. series and films, such as “The Equalizer,” “Head Of The Class,” “Miami Vice,” “Bates Motel,” and more.

In 1989, she starred as Suzanne Dunne in the crime drama series “Booker,” which brought her to prominence.

Lori made her silver screen debut with Cadillac Man (1990), a black comedy, after making a career break in TV. She played the part of Lila, the mistress in this story. Lori experienced an enormous surge in popularity with “Point Break,” an action/crime film, the following year.

In 1992, Lori starred in another blockbuster with the sports comedy-drama “A League of Their Own.” She was on screen with Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, and Madonna in this film. In the family drama “Free Willy,” she portrayed Rae Lindley.

The iconic Christine Jones was played by her in the war comedy “In the Army Now” in 1994.

Lori Petty performed the lead role in the 1995 sci-fi film “Tank Girl,” as Rebecca Buck, the main character. Lori’s subsequent significant role was in the TV drama “Lush Life” (1996), playing George Sanders.
