Liev Schreiber Faces Health Scare: Hospitalized for Severe Headache

Liev Schreiber, known for his roles in popular projects like Ray Donovan and the Scream film series, faced a health scare recently after being hospitalized for a severe headache. The actor reportedly reached out to his doctor when he experienced what was described as a “massive” headache, leading to a hospital stay in New York City on November 16 as advised by his physician. Despite undergoing tests at the hospital to determine the cause of the intense headache, the results have not been disclosed to the public.

However, Schreiber’s spokesperson reassured fans that the 58-year-old actor is doing well and has been cleared to return to work following his hospital stay. Currently, Schreiber is involved in filming an upcoming Apple TV+ thriller series based on Lars Kepler’s Killer Instinct book series, co-starring Stephen Graham and Zazie Beets, which began filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this summer.

This health scare is not the first time Schreiber has dealt with a serious situation related to a headache. In a previous incident in 2024 while starring in the Broadway play Doubt, Schreiber experienced temporary amnesia during a performance due to a severe headache. The actor recounted his frightening experience on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he struggled to remember lines and even forgot the name of his co-star Amy Ryan. Although he feared he had suffered a stroke, medical tests revealed he had transient global amnesia, a condition characterized by sudden memory loss that typically resolves within 24 hours.

In Schreiber’s case, he regained his memory the next day and was able to resume his performance without further issues. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictability and challenges that can accompany health issues, even for a seasoned actor like Schreiber. As he continues to navigate his career and personal life, Schreiber’s resilience and determination shine through in overcoming such unexpected obstacles.
