“We’re excited to expand the program to include emerging artists from Central America alongside the Caribbean and increase the number of locations for large-scale murals on Legend from four to six, creating more opportunities for artists to highlight the diverse destinations we visit through their work,” says Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean.
The selected artists will draw inspiration from their home regions to create unique pieces that have never been seen before. These murals are not meant to be distant objects of admiration but rather to coexist with guests as they navigate the ship, transforming everyday spaces into vivid reflections of the cultures found beyond the port.
Legend of the Seas marks Royal Caribbean’s latest venture into blending travel and art. Previous versions of the program appeared on Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, as well as at Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau.
