Kate, Liam Payne’s girlfriend of two years, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late One Direction singer. One week after his tragic passing, Kate shared her devastation.
“My heart is shattered beyond words,” Kate posted on Instagram (Oct. 23) alongside photos of the couple. “Your global impact is immense; you brought happiness and positivity to millions, family, friends and me. You’re incredibly loved.”
Kate, who vacationed with Liam in Argentina before returning to the U.S., reflected on his lasting impact.
“You’re my best friend, love and guiding light,” she wrote. “Your contagious energy illuminated every room. This new reality without you feels surreal. I struggle to envision life without you.”
Kate celebrated Liam’s kind spirit and fun-loving nature.
“Your absence feels like losing myself,” she continued. “I cherish memories of our joy-filled moments, laughter and love.”
Their relationship had blossomed, with plans for a future together.
“We envisioned our life on a beautiful evening,” Kate shared. “Your note, ‘Liam and Kate: marriage within a year, engaged forever,’ remains precious.”
Kate concluded, “Though our plans changed, you’ll forever be with me – my guardian angel. I’ll love and honor you, carrying our dreams and memories always.”
Liam’s passing at 31, resulting from a fatal hotel balcony fall in Argentina, sparked tributes from loved ones, including One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
