In a recent episode of her podcast “What’s Your Spark?” on Sunday, March 8, Sparks, now 36, reflected on her monumental win. “Next year will mark 20 years since I won American Idol,” she shared in disbelief. “Can you believe it? Like, it will be 20 years.”
Amid the millions of viewers casting votes from flip phones, Sparks emerged as the Season 6 champion in 2007 at just 17 years old, defeating runner-up Blake Lewis during the peak of the show’s popularity.
Following her victory, Sparks’ career soared beyond reality TV, with her debut album “Jordin Sparks” achieving platinum status.
