JetBlue Unveils “Mini Mint” First-Class Product for Domestic Flights

JetBlue is making waves once again in the world of air travel, rolling out a brand-new domestic first-class product starting in summer 2026. Known for its cool factor and top-notch amenities, JetBlue has long been a favorite among travelers for its spacious legroom and free high-speed Wi-Fi.

The introduction of this new first-class offering, dubbed “Mini Mint” or “Junior Mint,” aims to bridge the gap between standard seats and the luxurious lie-flat beds of JetBlue’s Mint business class. This move comes as the airline recognizes the growing demand for premium experiences among travelers willing to pay a little extra for added comfort.

JetBlue’s new first-class seats will feature the Collins Aerospace MiQ recliner, a gold standard in the industry, with a spacious 2-2 configuration and a seat pitch of approximately 36 to 37 inches. The airline plans to debut a prototype in June 2026, with fleet-wide installations set to begin in August. By the end of the year, around 25% of JetBlue’s non-Mint fleet is expected to offer this new cabin experience.

While the launch of “Mini Mint” is exciting news for premium travelers, there is a catch for economy passengers. To accommodate the new first-class rows without reducing total seat count, JetBlue will be making adjustments to its “Core” economy cabin. The famed 32-inch legroom, currently the best in the U.S., will be reduced to 30 inches. This change marks a shift for JetBlue, signaling the end of its claim to the most legroom in coach.

JetBlue’s decision to introduce a more affordable premium tier reflects its strategy to retain premium travelers and compete with legacy carriers. By offering a humane alternative to budget airlines, the airline is carving out a niche in the market while still vying for those lucrative first-class dollars. As JetBlue continues to innovate and evolve, it’s clear that the future of air travel is not just about getting from point A to point B, but about enhancing the overall travel experience.

In the ever-changing landscape of air travel, JetBlue’s move to launch “Mini Mint” represents a continued commitment to providing quality service and catering to the diverse needs of travelers. With this new offering, the airline is set to redefine the domestic first-class experience and solidify its position as a leader in the industry.
