In a world where death and taxes are guaranteed, one constant remains: the presence of Jeopardy! on our screens. This iconic game show has been entertaining audiences for over 60 years, with the modern version we know and love debuting in 1984. Under the guidance of Ken Jennings, a record-breaking former champion, Jeopardy! continues to test the trivia skills and reflexes of contestants in the ultimate battle of wits. Many of the greats who have graced the podiums started out as viewers, tuning in on weekdays for over half a century.
Today’s episode of Jeopardy! featured Tristan Williams, a data scientist hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska. Williams secured his third win in a row, taking home $22,799 on Friday despite missing the Final Jeopardy question. His three-day total now stands at an impressive $61,199.
Joining Williams on the show were Bill Bogan, a research administration specialist from Lafayette, Indiana, and Natalie Oyler-Lusco, a marketing professional from Baltimore, Maryland.
For Final Jeopardy today, the category was “ENERGY.” The clue asked contestants to identify the type of energy used in the first power plant built in Italy, a site believed to have inspired Dante. The correct response was geothermal.
Williams dominated the game, finding and correctly answering all three Daily Doubles. This strategic gameplay allowed him to enter Final Jeopardy with a commanding lead of $26,400, more than double Bogan’s second-place total. While Bogan was the only contestant to answer Final Jeopardy correctly, Williams’ strategic wagering ensured that even with a wrong response, he maintained his lead with a final total of $22,799.
Williams will return for his fourth game on Monday, showcasing his impressive trivia prowess once again.
Jeopardy! will be back on Monday, May 11, with a new episode for viewers to enjoy. The show is available for streaming on both Hulu and Peacock, allowing subscribers to catch new episodes and access a treasure trove of classic Jeopardy! moments.
