Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck ‘still moving forward’ with divorce despite recent kissing

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly “still moving forward” with their divorce despite being seen sharing a kiss while enjoying brunch in Los Angeles with their blended family.

“They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out,” a source told People on Sunday. “[Lopez is] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though.”

The insider added that the couple are “working out financial details amicably,” alluding to reports that they did not sign a prenup when they eloped in July 2022. “A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it,” the source continued. “The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”

The estranged couple were spotted at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday with Affleck’s children, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, along with Lopez’s 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme. The family was photographed walking into the hotel together, with the children rushing ahead of them.

An insider told Page Six that Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, were “holding hands and kissing” while seated at a separate table from their kids. Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, later arrived at the hotel to pick up Seraphina and Samuel after brunch. The former couple also share an 18-year-old daughter, Violet, who is away at Yale University for her freshman year.

This marked the first public appearance of Lopez and Affleck together since the “On the Floor” singer filed for divorce in August, citing irreconcilable differences. Lopez listed their separation date as 26 April, and chose to end the marriage on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony.

There are reports that the divorce “has the potential to get ugly” as the couple did not have a prenup. Under California state law, they are required to split any income earned during their marriage. Since tying the knot, they have appeared in several films together, and Lopez launched her cocktail brand, Delola, reportedly boosting her net worth to $400 million, compared to Affleck’s $250 million.

The couple also bought a $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills, which has since been listed for sale following their split. Meanwhile, Lopez continues her search for a new home, while Affleck purchased a $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades in July.
