Jason Aldean Surpasses His 31st No. 1 Hit on Country Radio

Jason Aldean didn’t anticipate that his latest achievement could get any better. After reaching his 30th No. 1 hit on country radio just months earlier, the country star surpassed this milestone when his 2025 single “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” became his 31st chart-topping song this week.

“How Far Does a Goodbye Go,” penned by Kurt Allison, John Edwards, Tully Kennedy, and John Morgan, was released in September 2025 as the lead single for Aldean’s upcoming album, “Songs About Us,” set to drop this spring. Celebrating the song reaching No. 1 on country radio, Aldean, 48, took to Instagram on Monday, Feb. 16, expressing his surprise at now having 31 number one songs.

“Man, I thought 30 was the milestone… now we’re sitting at 31 number one songs,” Aldean captioned his post, calling the latest accomplishment, “pretty wild.” He thanked country radio, his team, streaming partners, the songwriters, and his fans for helping turn his songs into something bigger than imagined.

In addition to topping country radio charts, “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” also rose to the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart this week, marking Aldean’s 26th No. 1 hit on that chart. This achievement ties Aldean with fellow country stars Luke Bryan, George Strait, and Alan Jackson for the fourth-most No. 1 hits since the chart’s inception in 1990.

Aldean had previously celebrated his 30th No. 1 hit back in October with the release of “30 Number One Hits,” a collection featuring all his chart-topping songs. The compilation album included beloved hits like “Big Green Tractor,” “She’s Country,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” and more. While announcing the album, Aldean expressed gratitude for the support he’s received over the last 20 years and hinted at continuing his successful career.

As Aldean continues to make waves in the country music scene, his latest milestone proves he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
