Teyana Taylor seemed to make a bold statement about her relationship with “The Lion King” actor Aaron Pierre at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday night.
“Oscar night in black & white, no grey area,” Taylor captioned her Instagram post, featuring three photos that appeared to confirm her romance with the British actor.
In the first striking black-and-white image, Taylor looks stunning in a plunging black halter gown with her hands on her hips, while the 6’3″ Pierre, towering over her even in her heels, stands confidently in a tux with a white bow tie.
The second photo captures the couple looking at Pierre’s watch, and the third shows them back to back, with Pierre holding his jacket over one arm, exuding a James Bond vibe, while Taylor bumps her booty against him and shows off her metallic stilettos.
“That’s how you pop out and show,” wrote comedian B. Simone in the comments, while Serena Williams added a playful “Oooooppp lol love this.” Taraji P. Henson, Lala Anthony, and Keke Palmer also chimed in with positive messages, with Palmer joking, “Now I’m mad cause they ain’t sent me my pictures.”
“This is how you do a hard launch!” Essence magazine declared in a post featuring two of the photos. “After weeks of speculation, Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre are making it Instagram official. My Shaylaaaaa!!! P.S. It should be illegal for two people this beautiful to be together!”
Pierre, known for his role as Mufasa in Barry Jenkins’ prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, which premiered in December and earned a Razzie nomination for Worst Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel (with Joker: Folie a Deux taking home the award), is set to appear in the Season 4 premiere of AppleTV+’s The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
Taylor, on the other hand, is cast in Paul Thomas Anderson’s still-untitled “event film,” currently in postproduction and expected to debut later this year.
The movie, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro, and Alana Haim, is keeping both its title and plot tightly under wraps, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
