Is Susan Lorincz from “The Perfect Neighbour” Really A Doctor?

The Netflix documentary “The Perfect Neighbor” sheds light on the case of Susan Lorincz, who is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence for fatally shooting her neighbor, Ajike “AJ” Owens. Viewers may have been left wondering about Lorincz’s career, particularly as she hinted at being a doctor in conversations with police. However, there is no concrete evidence of her having an advanced degree or working as a medical doctor.

Witness testimonies suggest that Lorincz may have worked in the insurance industry, with Pastor Shannon Lynn Harris mentioning that she helped congregation members with insurance issues. Additionally, Lorincz’s friend Crystal Maksou shared that she had various jobs and also did licensing work from home.

Forensic psychologist Dr. Yenys Castillo revealed that Lorincz worked as an EMT in her youth, which caused her trauma from treating plane crash victims. She also spent time working as a chef at a rehabilitation center. Despite her varied work history, Lorincz ended up being convicted of felony manslaughter with a firearm and is currently serving her sentence in Homestead Correctional Institution.

The judge in her case expressed that the shooting was unnecessary, as Lorincz could have stayed in a safe position while waiting for law enforcement.
