On May 19, a series of photos shared by Jason Oppenheim’s model girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk sparked speculation that the two had gotten married. However, despite the Instagram post, Oppenheim – the star of Selling Sunset – is still happily unmarried.
In an effort to clear up any confusion caused by their pictures, the couple quickly changed their caption to “You always make me smile”. In a statement to People magazine, Oppenheim revealed that even his own friends and family were thrown off by the post; “People think we got married because my girlfriend posted photos of us that look like a wedding. The caption also adds to the confusion,” he said.
The post showed the couple in formal attire – Oppenheim wearing a black suit and white shirt, with Nurk in an elegant dress. This was not the first time that the pair had caught people’s attention; they made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Netflix’s Day Shift in August 2021, and were first spotted together in Mykonos, Greece the following July.
The internet had previously been abuzz with Oppenheim’s relationship with his Selling Sunset co-star Chrishell Stause, who he was with for a year before they split in December 2021. In contrast to Stause’s very public divorce from This Is Us actor Justin Hartley, Oppenheim and Nurk have kept their relationship relatively private.
It remains to be seen if the couple will tie the knot anytime soon, but for now Oppenheim is content with enjoying Nurk’s company. “I’m very happy,” he said. “Being with her is great and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
