HydroJug 14-Ounce Children’s Sport Tumblers Recall: A Caregiver’s Guide

In the world of parenting, trust is a fragile thing. So when a beloved children’s water bottle suddenly becomes a potential hazard, it’s enough to send any caregiver into a panic. Learning that a popular water bottle could pose a choking risk to kids who rely on it for school, sports, and hydration has households across the country frantically checking their cupboards.

The recalled item in question is HydroJug’s 14-ounce Children’s Sport Tumblers, featuring various patterns like Cowgirl, Daisy Checkers, Dinosaur, Sports, and Bows. The issue lies with the rivets holding the handle to the lid, which have been reported to come loose and detach, creating a choking hazard.

HydroJug and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall after receiving over 650 reports of loose rivets. While no injuries have been reported, the company is urging customers to stop using the affected lids immediately.

Sold at major retailers and online, each bottle can be identified by the serial number 2350101 printed on the bottom. HydroJug is offering free replacement lids for affected customers. By marking the lid as “Recalled,” taking a photo of it and the serial number, and following the replacement process outlined on their website, customers can ensure the safety of their children.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to inspect their 14-ounce HydroJug Sport Tumblers and avoid using recalled lids until replacements are received. Regular checks of children’s products, especially those frequently handled, are crucial to prevent accidents. HydroJug’s commitment to addressing the issue promptly reassures families that safety remains a top priority.

By acting swiftly and participating in the replacement process, families can continue using these bottles safely with new lids and enjoy peace of mind in their daily routines. The importance of preventive measures is highlighted by the CPSC and HydroJug, emphasizing the role each individual plays in ensuring child safety.
