How to Become an Extra in Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s New Movie Filming in Boston

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are starring as a couple in their new film, The Drama.

The film has been shooting in Boston this fall and is currently seeking local residents to join as background extras.

If you have a “distinctive face,”, even with no prior acting experience you might be just the right fit to be an extra in “The Drama.”

Casting director Kate Antognini has announced an open call for extras with “distinctive faces” for this upcoming A24 film, directed by Kristoffer Borgli (“Dream Scenario”), which has been shooting in Boston since late October.

To apply, you need to be at least 18 years old, and no acting experience is necessary. Depending on the role, you can expect to film for 1 to 6 days, with compensation of $216 for each 8-hour workday.

You must reside in the Boston area to be eligible and arrange your own transportation to the filming locations.

To apply, submit 1-4 recent photos of yourself using the provided form, and reach out to [email protected] for any additional inquiries.

Where are the filming locations?

“The Drama,” also known by its working title “A Very Philly Christmas,” has captured attention in the Boston area due to its numerous outdoor shoots, providing plenty of visibility for stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson throughout October and November.

Zendaya and Pattinson were first seen at Phillips Academy in Andover, where the production team transformed the private school’s Addison Art Gallery into the fictional “Cambridge Art Museum,” where Pattinson’s character is employed, according to a source familiar with the filming.

The movie has been shooting all over Boston since then, with Zendaya and/or Pattinson appearing near South Station, across from Boston Common, in the Public Garden, and in the Back Bay, among other locations.

Filming is expected to carry on throughout the month in Boston, with more scenes scheduled to be filmed at a private club in Ipswich and in the Porter Square area of Cambridge, according to a source familiar with the production.

What is ‘The Drama’ All About?

According to Deadline, “The Drama” will reportedly center on a couple whose relationship starts to unravel in the days leading up to their wedding.

In addition to Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, “The Drama” will feature Mamoudou Athie (“Elemental”) and singer/actress Alana Haim (“Licorice Pizza”).

Haim and Athie was also spotted at the Somerville Theatre before filming began in October.

“The Drama” is also produced by Ari Aster, known for shaping A24’s reputation with horror hits like “Midsommar” and “Hereditary.”

Although no release date has been announced for “The Drama,” it seems likely that it could hit theaters in 2025, assuming there are no delays in post-production.
