Jennifer Tilly has revealed she owns a piece of The Simpsons on Tuesday’s episode of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The 66-year-old is widely recognized as an actress in films like The Bride of Chucky and as a professional poker player, before joining the reality show this year.
In a recent episode, during a group trip to Oceanside, the conversation shifted to divorce, a topic Tilly knows well.
She was married to Sam Simon from 1984 to 1991; Simon is the creator of the immensely popular animated series The Simpsons, which premiered in 1989 and continues to thrive.
In a candid moment, Tilly shared that she actually owns a stake in the long-running show, which she received in her divorce from Simon, causing quite a stir among fans on social media.
Tilly’s net worth is estimated at around $40 million, which includes her earnings from Simpsons royalties, acting, reality TV, and nearly $1 million from her professional poker career.
“My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about ten years.
“And then when we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was gonna go on for trillions of years. So, every day, honestly every day, I’m like, thank you, Sam,” Tilly confessed.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
