How Hawaii Woman Disappeared While Travelling to New York City

A woman from Hawaii named Hannah Kobayashi has gone missing after sending a cryptic message to her family.

The 31-year-old disappeared in Los Angeles, prompting her friends and family to desperately search for clues about her last known whereabouts, while police begin a new search for CCTV footage.

Hannah was on a cross-country trip from Maui to New York City, which began on November 8, but she never completed the final segment of her journey.

Her loved ones have revealed that she sent several alarming text messages in the hours leading up to her disappearance.

On November 10, she sent a scary text to a friend, stating, “I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds for someone I thought I loved.”

Her aunt, Larie Pidgeon, shared with KABC that Hannah was excited about attending an event in New York.

“She’s very responsible. She was looking forward to this event so much,” she noted, mentioning that Hannah had booked an expensive hotel room and purchased a costly ticket for the event.

Pidgeon also mentioned that Hannah sent her “strange, cryptic messages – things about the matrix,” which were uncharacteristic of her, and then suddenly, there was no more communication.

Hannah’s family has traveled to Los Angeles to aid in the search, and the Los Angeles Police Department has classified her case as a high priority.
