Halle Bailey has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend DDG, the father of her child, after alleging multiple instances of physical abuse.
According to court documents, the “Little Mermaid” star claims the first incident occurred in January, following their breakup in October 2024.
Bailey alleges that DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., became angry during a discussion about a visitation schedule for their one-year-old son, Halo.
Bailey claims that as she was securing Halo in his car seat, DDG repeatedly demanded she get out of the car.
Fearing for her crying baby’s safety due to DDG’s agitated state, a struggle ensued.
During this altercation, DDG allegedly pulled Bailey’s hair and pushed her face into the steering wheel, resulting in a chipped front tooth.
The actress stated she remained in the car out of concern for her son and later recounted the alleged incident to DDG’s family.
Bailey said she felt “hysterical” after the encounter. She submitted photos of her chipped tooth and bruises on her arm as evidence in her restraining order request, which was subsequently granted by an LA court.
Bailey also detailed another alleged incident from March where DDG reportedly entered her home without permission and sent her a text with a photo of her bed, implying she was being intimate with others.
She claims he returned days later, became verbally abusive when she said Halo was sick and needed to stay home, destroyed her Ring camera, and took her phone.
Bailey alleges he threw her phone out of his car as he drove away, prompting her to file a police report, which she included in her request for protection.
The most recent alleged incident occurred last weekend when DDG accused her of being in St. Lucia with another singer, despite her being on vacation with her son and her sister Chloe Bailey.
Text messages included in Bailey’s petition show her denying the accusations and DDG allegedly writing “free Halo bitch.”
The temporary restraining order granted to Halle Bailey protects both her and Halo, prohibits DDG from possessing firearms, and requires him to stay at least 100 yards away from them and refrain from any direct or indirect contact.
The order also includes stipulations against physical abuse and coercive control.
