H.E.R. has been listed as one of the performers wrapping up the Summer Olympic Games in Paris on Sunday, Aug. 11.
The 27-year-old Grammy winner will grace the Stade de France stadium, serenading the U.S. national anthem during the LA28 handover at the Paris Games’ closing ceremony.
PEOPLE got an exclusive sneak peek at the “Damage” crooner’s unique LA28 emblem, which showcases an electric guitar and her iconic sunglasses.
The LA28 emblem is a key part of LA28’s broader emblem campaign, which has been ongoing since 2020. The campaign aims to “capture the stories of Angelenos, athletes, artists, and activists.”
Organizers emphasized that the LA28 emblem embodies a diverse array of voices reflecting the vibrant culture of creativity, sport, and self-expression in the host city.
Unlike the opening ceremony by the Seine River, the closing ceremony will return to the Stade de France stadium, the venue for Track and Field and other Olympic events.
NBC Sports reports that a significant portion of the closing ceremony will focus on the host city handover from Paris to Los Angeles, gearing up for the next Summer Olympics in 2028. Los Angeles, a previous host in 1984 and 1932, is set to take the Olympic stage once again.
