Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Turning to Alcohol During Devastating LA Wildfires Worsened Menopause Symptoms

During Tuesday’s episode of her Goop podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow candidly discussed how her nightly drinking habits were exacerbating her menopause symptoms.

The 52-year-old Oscar winner, who described herself as “in the thick of it right now,” explained that while her menopause symptoms are generally manageable, the recent Los Angeles fires prompted her to turn to alcohol.

“I think I drank every night,” Paltrow admitted, noting that she was also taking medication.

She explained that she’s now completely abstaining from alcohol, except for perhaps one drink per week.

Paltrow also revealed that she’s experiencing insomnia, a symptom she didn’t encounter before menopause.

“There were nights where my anxiety – like, I just thought it meant, Oh, you’re not gonna be able to sleep because you don’t have enough progesterone or whatever,” she shared.

In January, Paltrow expressed her deep sorrow over the Los Angeles fires, writing, “Our beloved Los Angeles…We are in deep grief for so many of our close friends who have lost everything.”

She also assured her followers of her safety and pledged to help with the recovery efforts.

Paltrow’s company, Goop, contributed $2 million worth of merchandise to charities assisting fire victims.
