Gayle King stirred the pot regarding “It Ends With Us” when she awkwardly asked Brandon Sklenar which of his co-stars he supports amid the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
During his appearance on “CBS Mornings” on February 17, King put Sklenar, who plays Lively’s other love interest Atlas in the film, on the spot by asking, “Are you Team Blake or Team Justin?”
Sklenar handled the situation like a pro, saying, “I’m Team It Ends With Us.” He redirected the conversation, emphasizing the importance of the film’s message about domestic violence.
He shared, “I have someone very close to me who’s gone through what [Lively’s character Lily is] experiencing, and that movie meant a lot to me and to her.”
Sklenar expressed that the film gave his friend the strength to change her life, adding, “It’s unfortunate that things get taken away from what the ethos of that thing is and it gets convoluted.”
Last year, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment, which he denied, leading to a countersuit from Baldoni against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million.
Sklenar, along with their “It Ends With Us” co-star Jenny Slate and author Colleen Hoover, showed support for Lively after her initial claims.
