Freddie Freeman Welcomes Fourth Child Amid Baseball Season

The baseball season is in full swing and one player just hit a grand slam off the field. Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, recently welcomed their fourth child.

The journey to fatherhood wasn’t an easy one for Freeman. MLB player Freeman and his wife, married for 11 years, now have four children. Their eldest, Frederick Charles Freeman II, was born in 2016, making him nine years old. Their second son, Brandon John Freeman, arrived in 2020. Maximus Turner Freeman came two months later via surrogate.

Freeman opened up to ESPN in 2021 about their fertility struggles and surrogacy journey. “Every pregnancy and fertility journey is different, and we wanted to respect our surrogate’s privacy,” Freeman shared. “We tried for a couple of years without success, and the doctors suggested surrogacy. We were blessed with more kids, and we jumped at the opportunity.”

Their newest arrival, London Rosemary Joy Freeman, was also born via surrogate. The couple shared the news on Instagram with photos captioned, “London Rosemary Joy Freeman. April 19, 2026.” London’s middle names, Rosemary Joy, are a tribute to Freeman’s late mother.

Chelsea revealed more about the surrogacy journey in a heartfelt Instagram post last February, expressing gratitude for the woman helping bring their baby into the world. Friends, fans, and fellow athletes congratulated the family on social media.

Even sports stars need a break to welcome a new addition, and Freeman was placed on the Dodgers’ paternity list on April 19. He missed two games before being reinstated on April 21.

Overall, the Freemans’ journey to growing their family reflects the challenges and blessings of parenthood, showcasing the love, resilience, and support that define their expanding family unit.
