Foreigner Returns to the Stage: Summer Concert Series in Elk Grove Village

As summer approaches, plans for outdoor concerts are already in motion, setting the stage for a season of musical nostalgia. One iconic rock band from the 1970s and 1980s is making a highly-anticipated return to the spotlight, reuniting with a popular concert series after a decade-long hiatus.

Foreigner, known for their dominating presence on rock radio during their prime, will be gracing the stage at Rotary Green on Friday, July 17, 2026, as part of the Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series in Elk Grove, Illinois. With classic hits like “Jukebox Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is,” fans can expect a trip down memory lane followed by a dazzling fireworks display.

This performance holds special significance as Foreigner last performed at Rotary Green in Elk Grove Village on the exact same date 10 years prior, coinciding with the village’s 60th-anniversary celebration. Now, with their return aligning with the village’s 70th anniversary milestone, the band’s presence will be a highlight of the summer festivities.

Mayor Craig Johnson of Elk Grove Village has announced an impressive lineup for the 16th summer concert series, dubbing it the town’s “priciest ever” according to Shaw Local. In addition to Foreigner, country star Jake Owen will take the stage on July 4, while Fitz and the Tantrums, Smash Mouth, and Air Supply are set to follow with their own electrifying performances.

Foreigner’s upcoming concerts are part of a busy year for the band, including a series of orchestral shows in March and the highly-anticipated Double Trouble Double Vision Tour alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd. As they celebrate their 50th anniversary, Foreigner’s music continues to transcend generations, captivating audiences across the globe.

The free summer concerts, funded by the village and park district, offer a unique opportunity for music enthusiasts to enjoy a diverse range of performances under the open sky. With Foreigner leading the charge, the stage is set for an unforgettable summer of music and memories in Elk Grove Village.
