Forbidden Returns in Triumph

Forbidden, the iconic heavy metal rock band, has made a triumphant return after years of lineup changes and shifts in record labels. Announced on Instagram, the band revealed their signing with record label BLK II BLK / Frontiers Music, joining the ranks of other metal bands like Biohazard, Firewind, and Megadeath. Originally formed as Forbidden Evil in 1985 in the San Francisco Bay Area, the band quickly rose to prominence in the thrash metal scene, releasing successful albums like “Forbidden Evil” in 1988 and “Twisted Into Form” in 1990. Despite disbanding in 1997, they reunited in 2007 and have continued to make music, releasing their most recent studio album, “Omega Wave,” in 2010 before going on a brief hiatus in 2012.

In their Instagram announcement, Forbidden expressed their excitement for their return in 2023 and their upcoming plans to release new music. Reflecting on their journey, the band shared their joy in joining forces with their old friend, Mike Gitter at BLK II BLK / Frontiers. Their current lineup includes Craig Locicero, Matt Camacho, Norman Skinner, Chris Kontos, and Jeremy Von Epp. They teased fans with the news that they are currently recording their sixth studio album, their first in 16 years, promising new music that reflects their growth and experience.

According to reports from Blabbermouth, Forbidden is currently recording their album at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, with Zack Ohren as the engineer/co-producer. Drummer Kontos has laid down eight new songs for the album, including a secret cover song. The band began writing this album a couple of years ago and released their first song in 15 years, “Divided by Zero,” last June. While details about the new album, such as its title and tracklist, are still under wraps, fans can enjoy their existing discography and recent single on various streaming platforms.

As Forbidden prepares to make their mark once again, fans eagerly await the release of their long-awaited album, showcasing a band that has stood the test of time. In a landscape of ever-evolving music trends, Forbidden’s return serves as a testament to their enduring legacy in the metal scene.
