In a tragic turn of events, father of a 31-year-old Hawaii woman who vanished in Los Angeles nearly two weeks ago, Ryan Kobayashi, is dead.
According to security officials, he was found dead near LAX on Sunday morning
Recall that his daughter, Hannah Kobayashi had gone missing after sending a cryptic message to her family.
The 31-year-old disappeared in Los Angeles after missing a connecting flight at LAX. prompting her friends and family to desperately search for her.
Ryan and other family members had traveled to Los Angeles to search for his daughter.
On Sunday, November 24, the Los Angeles Police reported that officers responded to a death investigation in the 6100 block of Century Boulevard around 4 a.m.
While LAPD has not disclosed the cause of death, a nonprofit organization involved in the search issued a statement on behalf of the family.
The statement reads,”The Kobayashi family endured a devastating tragedy today.
“After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has compounded the family’s suffering immeasurably.
“Hannah IS still actively missing and is believed to be in imminent danger, It is crucial for everyone to remain vigilant in their efforts to locate Hannah.”
Hannah’s family has not released their own statement yet, but the RAD Movement expressed an urgent plea for the public to stay focused on the search for her.
They also requested that the public refrain from contacting family members to give them space to grieve.
Hannah is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, and fair skin with freckles.
The RAD Movement urged anyone who sees Hannah to call 911 immediately and to take a photo if possible.
